Zelamore lands win number 4

Oct 09, 2017

Small in stature this fella but that doesn't stop him winning his races. What isn't small is his brain, he is a smart little chap who spots the vulnerable and ensures he make the most of the situation. At Seymour on his previous start he had a complete lend of his apprentice jockey. He dropped the bit on the home turn and trialled in tailed off.Not handling the soft ground was offered as the reason for the defeat by his hoop but those who work daily with the horse knew he had won that particular battle.Blinkers and Dean Yendall on were the answer to his poor effort and the rain affected conditions were not an issue on Friday.Dean ensured the little man stayed focused and the result was never in doubt from a long way out.Great for the owners who have been with the stable since day dot and we were extremely confident heading into this race that he would get the job done. The owners backed him accordingly and were rewarded with very tasty odds indeed.

Hard to be critical of a horse that has won 4 races from 15 starts, he just needs to maintain his focus and he can win plenty more.
